My name is John and I live in Whyalla, a small city of 21,000 people in the north of South Australia. I am semi-retired and live with my wife and my dog. My wife, is partially disabled and is unable to do a lot of the work around the house, so I help out as much as I can, apart from which, I like cooking. I am in the process of rebuilding the garden, front and back. The Shade-house I have completed and have started to put plants in there. The washing line I have done away with and bought a drier for her. We have two children, both boys and both are Engineers ( A Chemical Engineer and a Systems Engineer) and my dog is called Benji and he is a Staffy Cross ( and a woose) We are currently fostering a Chihuahua.

Hi John, thanks for dropping by and commeting. Being disabled is a pain, I have slowly been getting worse over the years and no I have told I have a blockage in my brain and spinal cord stopping the signals getting to my legs now and then, its also started in my hands, life is cruel to some. Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. As you know, I live with disability and chronic health issues and my husband is my carer. Three months ago, I got NDIS and that’s improved things a lot for me. I am getting a lot more help at home, buut am also doing a lot more myself and so the house is making good progress. Being a carer has it’s own ups and downs, which may bear no relation to what’s going on your your partner either. Fortunately, it’s rare that my husband and I both hit a downer at the same time.
I have strong family connections to South Australia. My grandfather’s family were on the first boatloads of Germans. Our family settled in Hahndorf and my great granfather was born and lived in Haebich’s cottage, which used to be sign posted on the main street of Hahndorf.
