An officer was sent by General Lee to deliver a message to General Jackson. When the officer arrived at Jackson’s headquarters and found the General’s tent he was stopped by two armed guards who told him that General Jackson was at prayer and could not be disturbed. After about twenty minutes or so the officer came back and again he was stopped by the guards who again told him that General Jackson was at prayer and could not be disturbed. The officer went off to find some food and drink. An hour or so lated he returned and again the guards told him that the General was at prayer and could not be disturbed. The officer then suggested to the guards that it might be possible that the general has actually fallen asleep’ No Sir” said the guard. “General Jackson is a Presbyterian and they always have long prayers”..
Haha! I’m sending this one to a minister friend. He’ll get a kick out it.

My father-in-law was a Presbyterian minister – he would have enjoyed this one.
