South Australia to close borders in response to coronavirus pandemic
News has come from the State Government in Adelaide that South Australia will close its borders. This will take effect as from Tuesday giving the government time to set up new border control stations and for people already in South Australia to go home. I can’t say that I am all that surprised after 8 American Tourists , visiting the Barossa Valley were diagnosed with the virus. The way things are developing I don’t think a lockdown is very far away.
We’ve just gone into lockdown tonight, with some exceptions for food, exercise and caring for the vulnerable.

We are not in lockdown as yet but I feel it is only a question of time. You and John take care and I hope your mum is ok.

Thanks – so far, we are all fine. I worry a lot about my mum though.

Your government’s response seems reasonable, given the exponential rise in numbers of positive cases. Stay safe and please give sweet Benji our best germ free ear rubs.

The new border posts are now operational and anyone wanting to enter South Australia (other than essential services) must quarantine for 14 days. Other States have followed and are closing their borders, something that has not happened since before 1901 – before Federation. It’s a worry. I will give Benji the ear rubs and I think we are going to have Dougal here for some time to come.
